The first DY356 Day took place on September 21, 1999, in multiple spots around the world. In Tucson AZ, six 356s from the Arizona Outlaws made the drive. According to Rick Woltz, President of the Hawaii Porsche 356 Group, they organized a breakfast meeting for the inaugural "Drive Your 356 Day". The first DY356 Day Hawaii event was at Luana Hills Country Club with 6 people and 4 cars showing up.
The 8th Southern 356 Drive is scheduled for SEPT 16,17,18, 2027 in Helen, GA. Think of this event as a pick-up slow pitch softball game at the neighborhood sandlot - with beer & wine. We have a loose program, mostly unstructured with some pick-up fun events. We are about spending time with new and old friends and our cars. It is an out of the norm venue reminiscent of the earliest club gatherings with no formal banquets and speeches…but plenty to eat, entertainment each night, lots to do, see, and talk about, lots of seat time on gorgeous mountain roads, and the ability to pull a beer from a fresh tapped keg any time you feel like it 24/7. A laid-back attitude, a friendly manner, and wanting to interact with people…not obsessing about your 356 cleanliness and perfection and awards…guarantees you a very, very good time!
